Celebration April 23

We have a number of ministries that will be represented at our “Drive Thru” service opportunity on your way into our celebration on April 23.  As details come together, they will be posted on our website under the Troy PM Blog http://www.insightsbiblestudy.org/troy-pm-blog.html and on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Insights-KCC-Troy-PM/162835810461178.  For up to the minute updates, check those out.  We will also be handing out flyers on April 9 with all of the ministries listed.

Volunteers are making calls right now to pick a place to cater in dinner on April 23.  For those that want to have dinner, we will start collecting money on April 9.  The price has not been set, but as soon as it is, you can find that online also.  You don’t need to participate in the dinner portion to come to the celebration by any means.  We want everyone to attend this night of celebration even if you don’t want to eat.

Two Hour Small Group & Easter

Next week we will have two hours in our small groups and no large group teaching.  The following week we will not meet because of Easter break.  We will be back on April 9 with the regular one hour small group and one hour teaching.

Volunteer

We have no one signed up to make coffee for the rest of the semester, so if you want coffee, we need some ladies to sign up to make it and clean up.  The sign up is on the coffee table.

End of Year Celebration

We have a couple ladies that have offered to help with the planning and arrangements for our celebration, but we could always use some more.  If you are interested, the sign up is on the coffee table.

Spring Clean / Spring Serve

We are going to try something a little different this year based off a concept the Orion Insights ladies have been doing.  In the past we have had one specific service opportunity the night of our celebration, but who can pick just one!  We are looking for ladies that are currently involved in a ministry of some type that Insights could come alongside and support in some way by donations of things or small service in some way.  It could be as simple as cleaning out our homes of used toys, old glasses, or used cell phones (hence the spring clean).  We are a bit behind in planning this, but I think we can pull it off if we get a few different ladies to represent ministries they already know about.

The night of the celebration, we will have a drive thru.  There will be Vans and/or SUVs in the parking lot with signs of what they are collecting and you just drive up and drop off whatever you have brought before heading up to the celebration.  We will put together a list of ministries and items beforehand and pass them out on April 9 & 16.  (That’s why we need those commitments soon.)  Then up at the celebration we will have a table where we will put out information about the different ministries and how you can get further involved is you are interested.  We may possibly have sign ups to go serve with the person sponsoring a ministry also or instead of collecting donations.

If you haven’t had a chance to volunteer yet, there are still open slots for making coffee, cleaning up coffee, and greeting.  You can either signup online at www.InsightsBibleStudy.org or sign up on the clipboard at the coffee table.

End of Year Celebration

We will be having our year end celebration on April 23, so we need to start planning now.  I’m looking for ladies that would like to help plan the food and decorations for that night along with setting an optional cost and collecting payments.  If you are interested in helping out, sign up on the clip board at the coffee table or email [email protected].

Small Groups

Do you love Insights?  Do you have friends you might want to invite, but don’t because our small groups are so big?  Or maybe you haven’t even thought of inviting someone you meet because it’s the middle of a study or you’re not sure how that would work.  Well, new ladies are always welcome.  They just need to come.  Let your small group leader know if you know in advance so we can plan to have a binder ready for them, but we can get them stuff afterwards if needed.  We want everyone to feel they can check out Insights at any time.

This year we grew by two new small groups and we are still quite full.  We’d like to make more room, but that means some people are going to have to step up to be small group leaders.  We successfully split a group from last year in half so that is always an option and it worked really well.  We offer a four week training that you can come to if you want to investigate what a small group leader does in Insights.  If you are interested or would like to know more, let your current small group leader know.  We will also have an informational meeting with pizza on April 16 at 6pm in room 214.  Just RSVP to your small group leader or Elspeth at [email protected].
